From Jan, 31st to Feb,
2nd 2007, all partners of the ELVET project met at the Berufskolleg Herne. In
this kick-off meeting, the general framework, aims and tasks were clarified. In
addition to the very intense and productive work, a guided visit of "Zeche
Zollverein" was the cultural highlight of this meeting.

EU project designed to facilitate learning during
times of travel 
In 2006, the European Commission approved a project
application of the "Berufskolleg für Wirtschaft und Verwaltung der Stadt Herne"
(Vocational College Herne). The magic word is eLearning, learning via
electronic media. During the next two years, project partners such as the
Bezirksregierung Arnsberg, as well as experts from five different European Countries
(Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Bulgaria and Germany) will develop a distance
learning concept for the internet. For this purpose, they will work closely
with the fairground people's unions DSB and BSM.
